An Excerpt
A Roman camp is set up on the banks of the Genesus River not too far from Scampin City. Gallus and Claudius discuss their command of the Roman forces. Hundreds of Roman soldiers are encamped near countless tents on the banks of the Genesus River (today's Shkumbin). A war trumpet is heard, then several commands in Latin. Commander Gallus wears a bronze helmet, decorated with a red crown, and iron chainmail on his body. His nature is harsh and proud. He carefully studies the map open on the table, while Claudius enters the tent. Claudius takes a ready stance before his superior, but Gallus signals for him to stand down. On Claudius's helmet is a white and yellow horsehair crown. He has placed six decorations on his chainmail, among which one with the face of Caesar Augustus stands out. A red scarf thrown around his neck protects him underneath his helmet. A sword with an ivory handle rests in its sheath at his hip.
